Bowman Williams is a permanent staffing firm located in Arlington, VA. We’ve been in business since 2010.
After two good years at one of the larger, more prominent staffing firms, I ventured out on my own to start Bowman Williams out of my apartment. The first year of business was likely the worst year of my life financially. I was selling every kind of staffing under the sun (contract staffing, contract to hire staffing, permanent placement staffing) and I was selling to everyone everywhere – I didn’t have a unified message – my message (like most commodity services or products) tends to fall on deaf ears unless it is honed to strike the chord of a specific audience or pain point.
I found that chord when I started to Staff IT Cloud Computing companies and Managed Service Providers. Four years later, Bowman Williams is the staffing partner of 90% of the top 100 Cloud and Managed Service Providers, as ranked by the MSPmentor in the markets we service – Washington D.C., New York, Philadelphia and soon Chicago. We have our hands around the industry, earn extensive repeat business and bringing in more business than we can currently handle.

- Account Managers do not cold call.
- Account Managers form relationships with existing clients.
- Account Managers have an unlimited budget to travel anywhere in the country to meet clients.
- Account Managers have the luxury of prioritizing their own accounts, client relationships and job orders – no micro managing.
Bowman Williams believes in empowering people to work at their highest scope. When working on a salary + commission compensation structure, an Account Manager should want to protect their time so they can work “closest to the dollar” most of the time. We empower Account Managers by removing all the tasks in their daily job responsibilities that do not directly impact forming relationships with existing accounts to get job orders. For example, Account Managers don’t have to post ads, format resumes, schedule and confirm interviews with candidates, or find and interview candidates – unless they prefer to. These tasks are handled by the Coordination Team, the Recruiting Team or Bowman Williams operations.
We are in the process of building out a new office space (in Arlington) that is four times the size of our current office. We pay 100% of health benefits + dental + 2 hour lunch break between 11:30AM – 1:30PM + uncapped vacation time.
First year earnings are around $80K – $100K and second year earnings is around $125K – $150K. Third year and beyond is about $150K – $200K.
