IT Field & Server Support Engineer

We were founded in the early 2000s as a managed service provider and have moved into the cloud and cyber security fields as well. We support over 200 organizations with all their IT needs from on-prem to cloud. We are always growing and currently looking for a IT Field & Server Support Engineer.

The IT Field & Server Support Engineer is responsible for providing onsite support at our clients’ locations (local travel only) on top of remote support when at home (things that can be done remotely should be done remotely). This relates to all technology utilized by the client, including workstations, servers, printers, networking equipment, internet service, telephone system support, and third-party software. The IT Field & Server Support Engineer also carries project implementation responsibilities with regards to all implemented products & technologies. This includes, but is not limited to, workstation builds and deployments, server & network equipment installations, ISP deployments, application installation and upgrades, business continuity and disaster recovery testing.

 IT Field & Server Support Engineer responsibilities:

  • Support of all things Microsoft, from Windows Server 2012+, Azure AD, O365, Active Directory, GPOs, etc
  • Working with Server Operating Systems
  • Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Configuring file, print, and remote access services
  • Handling Tier 2 escalations
  • Administration consisting of adding/removing users and groups, configuring file permissions, event logs, etc
  • Configure and restore backups
  • AD configuration and maintenance
  • Email maintenance

 IT Field & Server Support Engineer requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or full-service IT consultancy firm.
  • Installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and customization of MS Office Suite applications per customer’s preferences
  • Solid understanding of and ability to install, configure and test workstation hardware including video cards, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, and PDAs Datacenter Technologies
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Backup Systems/ Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Working knowledge of Hyper-V and VMware
  • Solid understanding of and ability to configure TCP/IP subnetting and troubleshooting Internet connectivity
  • Experience with and understanding of routers and firewalls
  • Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Sophos, FortiGate Cloud Solutions
  • Experience with Azure and AWS
  • Azure AD configuration and maintenance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills. Candidate needs to be able to tailor communication to the proper skill level of the end-user, and include the appropriate detail to manage the end-user’s expectations.
  • Enlists the support of others, identifies key decision-makers and builds alliances to advance business needs.
  • Ability to improve customer service satisfaction
