We’re looking for a IT Field Technician for SMBs to do about 50% on-site support/projects for multiple SMB clients restricted to the Chicagoland area. This will be a good opportunity for a junior systems admin to gain exposure to emerging virtualization and cloud technologies and grow beyond basic desktop support. This opening is well-suited for someone with some experience with a Managed Service Provider looking to gain hands on exposure to virtualization/cloud/network deployment projects.

IT Field Technician for SMBs Requirements:

  • Experience using ConnectWise a plus!
  • Basic knowledge of Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Basic knowledge of servers (GPO / Scripts / Exchange / AD)
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor
  • Experience using Cisco products
  • Experience troubleshooting/administering Microsoft infrastructure technologies (O365/Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policy, etc)
  • Experience in an SLA-driven environment servicing multiple clients concurrently (a must have)
  • Background of working autonomously, working for multiple clients in multiple environments
  • Providing end-user tech support to external entities
  • Strong documentation skills

IT Field Technician for SMBs Responsibilities:

  • Providing support for computers and user related questions.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction driving towards maximized customer service at all times.
  • Providing user assistance as needed.
  • Documenting all support work on a timely basis
  • Using remote control tools to provide support to remote locations.
  • Completing projects as assigned.
