We’re seeking a Project Engineer (Tier 2.5) to join a well-established, fast-growing MSP based in Dallas, TX. This team-first environment emphasizes employee development, minimal turnover, and consistent reinvestment in its people and tech stack. You’ll play a key role in executing IT infrastructure projects for SMB and mid-market clients across industries.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Own and deliver technical projects independently or alongside a senior engineer
- Serve as the lead or secondary resource depending on project scope and complexity
- Collaborate with the Project Design Desk and fellow engineers to scope, validate, and execute new deployments
- Provide occasional mentorship or assistance to junior team members on escalations
- Maintain thorough time tracking, documentation, and project updates
- Create or refine project-related technical documentation
Sample Projects You’ll Handle:
- Subtenant network implementations (secure, segmented wired/wireless setups)
- VOIP system rollouts (RingCentral, etc.)
- Server refreshes or consolidation
- Server migrations to hosted cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
- Active Directory or Google Workspace migrations to Entra ID
- Legacy application migrations to hosted solutions (e.g., QuickBooks, etc.)
Tech Stack Exposure:
- Microsoft Server & Azure Environments
- Microsoft 365 / Exchange / SharePoint
- AD / Azure Entra ID
- VOIP platforms (RingCentral or similar)
- Network devices & VLANs
- Cloud-first infrastructure projects
Requirements:
- 4+ years of hands-on IT experience, ideally in a project-based role within an MSP or consulting firm
- Strong familiarity with Windows Server, AD, M365, networking, and cloud technologies
- Experience leading or supporting IT infrastructure migrations and implementations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a structured project delivery environment
- Excellent communication, documentation, and client interaction skills
