IT Senior System Administrator / Team Lead (MSP):

We are a growing IT Managed Services Provider that has been in business since 2002. We cater heavily to the Legal, Healthcare, and Manufacturing industries but support clients in all industries. Headquartered in Elgin, IL, we are expanding our rapidly growing our core services offerings of proactive Cloud Services/Security, Managed Services and Hybrid Cloud Solutions across North America.

Our current opening is a IT Senior System Administrator / Team Lead (MSP) that is full-time, permanent position paying $120k – $140, full benefits, only 3 days in office per month, 401(k), certification reimbursement, and more!

The will spend 75% of their time working on escalations/projects and 25% as the Team Lead for a small team. The Senior System Administrator / Team Lead (MSP) role is the final escalation point for troubleshooting, supporting project engineers, and ensuring smooth operation of systems and tools like M365, Azure, and ESXi host management.

The IT Senior System Administrator / Team Lead (MSP) must have previous MSP experience and currently be working in a Team Lead capacity.

IT Senior System Administrator / Team Lead (MSP) Technical Knowledge:

  • Microsoft Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022)
  • VMware and Hyper-V
  • Installation, Configuration, and Troubleshooting (servers, OS, etc.)
  • Microsoft Active Directory (Trusts, Group Policy, Login Scripts)
  • Microsoft Exchange Setup, Configuration, and Troubleshooting
  • Microsoft SQL Server Setup and Troubleshooting
  • Microsoft RDP Server Setup and Troubleshooting
  • Microsoft 365 Setup, Migration, and Troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Servers, and Microsoft 365 Admin Center
  • Microsoft Windows Client OS (10/11) Installation, Configuration, and Troubleshooting
  • Enterprise SAN Installation, Configuration, and Troubleshooting (HP, Synology, Nimble, EMC, etc.)
  • Data Backup and Recovery Solutions (Acronis, Datto, etc.)
  • Enterprise Wireless Setup, Administration, and Troubleshooting
  • Layer 2/3 Switching
  • Support for UTM firewalls (Cisco Meraki, Sophos, SonicWALL)

IT Senior System Administrator / Team Lead (MSP) Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations, assign tasks, and oversee team performance
  • Act as escalation point for complex technical issues
  • Improve processes to boost efficiency and client satisfaction
  • Communicate effectively with clients and manage expectations
  • Mentor team members and support skill development
  • Coordinate staffing and resources as needed
  • Report on performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
