IT System Administrator (“Jack of All Trades”) – MSP | Hybrid | Greenvale, NY

A well-established Managed Services Provider (MSP) based in Greenvale, NY, is seeking a versatile IT System Administrator (“Jack of All Trades”) to join their growing team. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to work on a wide variety of technologies and client environments.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and optimizing client IT infrastructures, while playing a key role in managing customer relationships and project implementations. IT System Administrator “Jack of All Trades” Responsibilities:
- Deploy infrastructure solutions involving Exchange, VMware, Windows Server, and other technologies.
- Build and upgrade network and server environments, including physical-to-virtual (P2V) conversions.
- Install and configure network, server, and desktop equipment at client sites.
- Manage and maintain servers, networks, and desktops across multiple clients.
- Maintain strong client relationships and regularly communicate project updates and technical recommendations.
- Understand client business objectives and recommend technology solutions to meet those goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues including software deployments, security incidents, server and desktop issues.
- Manage complex technology projects and coordinate internal and external resources.
IT System Administrator “Jack of All Trades” Requirements:
- Recent experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) is required.
- Proficient with Windows OS, Windows Server, and Microsoft Office products.
- Strong networking knowledge: LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SMTP, etc.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, VMware, Hyper-V, Remote Desktop Services, SQL Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and migration projects is a plus.
- Experience with firewalls (Check Point, SonicWall, Cisco) and security monitoring.
- Skilled in the use of RMM tools such as ConnectWise Automate or Datto RMM.
