IT System Administrator Tier 2.5 (MSP) Overview:

We’re looking for an experienced IT System Administrator Tier 2.5 (MSP) to bridge the gap between Level 2 and Level 3 support. This role is perfect for a tech who thrives in a fast-paced MSP environment, enjoys solving complex issues, and wants to grow their skills. You’ll be handling escalations from L2 techs, working on Windows-based networks, Microsoft 365, Azure, and virtualization, and collaborating with senior engineers on challenging projects.
Previous MSP experience is required for this role. Kaseya experience is a major plus.
IT System Administrator Tier 2.5 (MSP) Day to Day:
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for escalated IT issues.
- Manage and support Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments.
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
- Assist in migrating clients to the cloud (Azure, Microsoft 365, Hybrid environments).
- Automate and optimize processes using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
- Act as an escalation point for L1 and L2 technicians.
- Provide exceptional customer service while managing multiple client environments.
- Work on Kaseya RMM, ticketing systems, and documentation to maintain efficiency.
IT System Administrator Tier 2.5 (MSP) Qualifications:
- 1+ year(s) of MSP experience supporting Windows environments.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Azure administration.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Experience with firewalls (e.g., SonicWall, Fortinet), VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
- Familiarity with RMM and PSA tools (e.g., Kaseya, ConnectWise, Ninja, N-able).
- A customer-first attitude with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
IT System Administrator Tier 2.5 (MSP) Salary + Benefits:
- $80,000 – $95,000 (dependent on experience)
