Marketing & Branding Internship Opportunity

Bowman Williams is a hyper niche recruitment agency that caters exclusively to the IT Cloud industry. We operate in 8 different cities and have been in business for over 15 years. We have a collaborative and supportive environment. We have an unpaid Marketing & Branding internship that will provide learning opportunities and exposure to marketing & branding strategy.

You will be working directly with the CEO and Marketing & Branding Manager. This person will also learn how to create, edit and finalize marketing content and gain experience shaping marketing strategy that furthers brand exposure.

This person can work in our office in Arlington, VA (Ballston) and have their own private office or they can work a hybrid schedule (office and from home) or exclusively form home.

Overview of the Internship Program:

We are seeking a Marketing & Branding Intern who is ready to gain hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, and marketing research—all while building a strong foundation in the dynamic world of marketing and branding for a niche professional services firm. This is an unpaid internship that offers exposure to real-world marketing tools and practices, ideal for someone looking to enhance their skill set and launch a career in this exciting field.

Program’s Key Learning Areas:

  • Content Creation & Social Media (25%): You will spend time learning how to create compelling marketing content and optimize posts for social media platforms like LinkedIn. You’ll gain insights into how branding messages are tailored to target audiences and how to strategically schedule posts for maximum engagement.
  • Marketing Calendar Management (25%): Learn how to manage and update a corporate marketing content calendar using tools like OneDrive and Microsoft Word. You’ll help ensure that our content aligns with broader marketing strategies and gain experience in keeping campaigns on track.
  • Marketing Research (25%): Conduct research on industry trends and influencers within the Managed Service Provider (MSP) space. You will gather insights that inform content strategy and learn how to engage key industry players to extend our marketing reach.

Program’s Tools & Exposure:

  • Digital Marketing Tools: Gain experience posting content on platforms like WordPress and LinkedIn. You will also learn how to recycle content with industry influencers to maximize its reach and impact.
  • Social Media Strategy: Learn how to draft, schedule, and manage posts on LinkedIn, one of the most important platforms for B2B marketing.
  • Content Calendar Management: Learn how to oversee and maintain our marketing team’s deliverables using a content calendar, ensuring timely execution across platforms.
  • Influencer & Collaboration Research: Learn how to research MSP influencers, podcasts, and other collaboration opportunities. You will engage with potential partners to explore new ways of amplifying our brand message.

Program Deliverables:

  • Turn written outlines from management into polished content ready for publication on our website and social media platforms.
  • Assist in managing the content calendar by ensuring posts are scheduled, recycled with influencers, and strategically shared for maximum engagement.
  • Conduct research on MSP influencers, blogs, podcasts, and events where we can collaborate or share our content. This includes exploring opportunities for speaking engagements by identifying and applying to relevant industry conferences.
  • Keep tabs on trending topics in the MSP industry, incorporating these themes into our marketing content and calendar to ensure relevance.
