Senior Network Engineer – Managed Service Provider Responsibilities:
- Advanced support of network infrastructure (e.g., Ubiquiti, Meraki, Cambium, Aruba, AeroHive, Ruckus, Cisco Catalyst,), WAN, LAN, and Firewalls (e.g., SonicWall, Fortigate, Meraki, Palo Alto).
- Implement and support network technologies, principles, and protocols including RSTP, VLANs, ISPs LAG, LACP, Multipath, IGMP, QoS, etc.
- Plan, implement and support various Wi-Fi authentication methods including: Private WLANs using xPSK (iPSK, ePSK, DPSK) and sometimes Radius.
- Onboard and monitor client networks in Auvik NMS.
- Wi-Fi Optimization, Design, and Analysis using Ekahau.
- Serve as the go-to expert for Tier 3 incidents, working with cutting-edge technologies like Ubiquiti, Meraki, Cambium, and Ruckus to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Build and optimize networks, including Wi-Fi systems, firewalls, switches, and VLANs, while implementing protocols like RSTP, LACP, and QoS.
- Lead initiatives such as Wi-Fi overhauls and network upgrades by scoping, planning, and deploying tailored solutions.
- Participate in advisory board reviews to ensure seamless system enhancements and security upgrades.
- Contribute to discovery and remediation efforts for newly onboarded environments while driving process efficiencies.
Senior Network Engineer – Managed Service Provider Requirements:
- Experience working for an Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Solid understanding of network technology and related concepts, such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SMTP, etc
- At least 6 years of working experience designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting various technology environments
- Extensive experience in networking, firewall, routing, and switching
- Experience using an RMM tool, such as ConnectWise Automate, Datto RMM, etc.
