Senior System Engineer – Managed Services

This is a partial work from home position depending on where candidates reside in the DC Metro Area.

This MSP is in the middle of expanding its Mid-Market practice after seeing strong demand from organizations that have outgrown smaller IT providers but still want a high-touch managed services partner. Their leadership team has spent the last few years refining a highly repeatable service model across cloud, infrastructure, and security, and that model is now giving them the confidence to scale market share in a more intentional way. As new client teams come online, they are adding multiple engineers who can step into visible technical roles today and grow into Team Lead or Service Management paths over the next 18–24 months.

The Senior System Engineer – Managed Services will play a key role in helping clients modernize infrastructure, adopt cloud platforms, and improve the overall maturity of their IT environments. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to both the technology and the client relationship while joining a company that is building with purpose.

Senior System Engineer – Managed Services Job Duties:

  • Provide technical expertise to align VMware Best Practices with company’s existing IT policies, workflows, and procedures in design process
  • Designing and implementing, migrating and supporting Windows, VMware/Hyper-V server networks
  • Maintaining and improving the technology infrastructure of our company, working closely with our team of L2 engineers to ensure operational efficiency
  • Deploying and configuration firewalls from scratch
  • AWS/Azure design, migrations and deployments

Senior System Engineer – Managed Services Requirements:

  • Understanding of complex multi-site IT infrastructures and coordinating with clients to maintain and improve them
  • Experience in managing hybrid environments, with knowledge of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience working and understanding working with VMware and/or Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of automation tools, specifically PowerShell, Python or Bash
  • Providing advanced level technical support for end-users
  • Experience deploying and configuration Window Servers
  • Hands-on experience with M365, P2V, and V2V migrations

Senior System Engineer – Managed Services Benefits:
