A fast-growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) based in Manhattan is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Tier 3) to join our team. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead for complex projects, escalations, and day-to-day client support across multiple industries. Senior Systems Engineer (Tier 3) – MSP Responsibilities:
- Act as Tier 3 escalation point for technical issues across servers, networks, cloud platforms, and security.
- Lead project implementations including server upgrades, cloud migrations, network deployments, and cybersecurity enhancements.
- Support Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Azure, and related platforms.
- Manage and maintain virtual environments (VMware and Hyper-V).
- Deploy and maintain network equipment (firewalls, switches, routers) with a focus on Fortinet, Cisco, and Palo Alto technologies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Interface directly with clients to gather requirements, provide solutions, and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Manage documentation, tickets, and project updates within an MSP PSA/RMM platform (ConnectWise, Autotask, etc.).
Senior Systems Engineer (Tier 3) – MSP Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working within an MSP or IT consulting environment.
- Strong background in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, and networking.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, routing, and switching (Fortinet, Cisco, or similar).
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and handle client communication effectively.
- Relevant certifications preferred: MCSA, MCSE, Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, CCNA, or similar.
