About

System Administrator Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Providing desktop support and server maintenance
  • Administration and migrations of Microsoft 365
  • Monitoring and resolving system alerts
  • Setting up networking equipment from providers like Meraki, SonicWALL, and Cisco
  • Working on various IT projects
  • Responsibility for allocated escalated tickets, which involves prioritization, communication, and adherence to SLAs

System Administrator Technical Skills:

  • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022, Windows 10/11
  • Networking equipment from providers such as HP, SonicWall, Cisco, Meraki
  • Solid networking skills including routers, firewalls, VPN, switches, wireless, VLAN, and QoS
  • Virtualization (VMWare ESXi/Hyper-V)
  • Cloud (Azure)
  • Backup & Recovery tools such as VEEAM, Synology HyperBackup
  • Active Directory, DNS and Group Policies, VPN, Terminal Services, Print Management
  • Business Application Support (Microsoft 365, G Suite, SaaS, Sage, QuickBooks)
  • Email Migration/Implementation/Security (Hosted Exchange/Microsoft 365, G Suite)
  • Synology (NAS), CLI (PowerShell, SSH, TelNet)
  • Hardware and Software: PC/Mac, MS Office, QuickBooks, Dell Servers and Workstations (Dell/Lenovo/HP)
  • Hosted VoIP phones, Windows and macOS Operating Systems
  • Basic understanding of Linux and storage technologies like NAS/SAN
