System Administrator Level 2.5 (MSP):

As a System Administrator in this L2.5 role, you’ll bridge the gap between Level 2 support and the higher escalation levels, managing and resolving intermediate to advanced technical issues across infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity environments. You’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing client systems, performing system updates, and assisting in system design and implementation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with server management, cloud services, and enterprise IT systems, and be ready to take ownership of IT infrastructure and provide consistent, high-quality support.

We require at least 1 year of experience working for a Managed Service Provider.

System Administrator Level 2.5 (MSP) Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and troubleshoot systems including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and virtualized environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Provide hands-on support for cloud environments, including Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Administer backup and disaster recovery solutions and ensure high system availability.
  • Assist with and perform system upgrades, migrations, and deployments such as cloud transitions, server updates, and network improvements.
  • Support client IT strategies and assist in creating and maintaining technology roadmaps.
  • Resolve intermediate to advanced technical issues in networking, infrastructure, and security.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Ensure systems are well-documented, and maintain accurate records of IT environments and changes.

System Administrator Level 2.5 (MSP) Requirements:

  • At least 1 year working for a MSP
  • 3-5 years of IT support experience, with at least 2 years in a system administrator or L2 role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery, and security tools (firewalls, EDR, SIEM).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with an ability to resolve complex issues in networking, server infrastructure, and cloud-based systems.
  • Solid communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with clients directly.
