As a Network Engineer “Jack of All Trades” – MSP, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the hybrid infrastructure solutions for our cloud service provider. You will work closely with our clients to understand their business needs and provide them with the best possible solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, networking, and security.
Network Engineer “Jack of All Trades” – MSP Responsibilities:
- Advanced support of network infrastructure (e.g., Ubiquiti, Meraki, Cambium, Aruba, AeroHive, Ruckus, Cisco Catalyst,), WAN, LAN, and Firewalls (e.g., SonicWall, Fortigate, Meraki, Palo Alto)
- Implement and support network technologies, principles, and protocols including RSTP, VLANs, ISPs LAG, LACP, Multipath, IGMP, QoS, etc.
- Plan, implement and support various Wi-Fi authentication methods including: Private WLANs using xPSK (iPSK, ePSK, DPSK) and sometimes Radius
- Onboard and monitor client networks in Auvik NMS
- Wi-Fi Optimization, Design, and Analysis using Ekahau
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 3 technical support issues and act as the primary and final escalation point
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and work with wireless controllers, access points, routers, firewalls, and network switches
- Design, implement, maintain, and support all wireless and wireline network connectivity systems
- Solution design and implementation of new technologies for clients to meet the business requirements
- Maximize up time through preventive and proactive maintenance and support as needed
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures
Network Engineer “Jack of All Trades” – MSP Requirements:
- Experience working for an Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Solid understanding of network technology and related concepts, such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SMTP, etc
- At least 7 years of working experience designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting various technology environments
- Extensive experience in networking, firewall, routing, and switching
- Experience using an RMM tool, such as ConnectWise Automate, Datto RMM, etc.V
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix Virtualization skills, and Networking experience (Cisco and SonicWall).
