The Role: Project Engineer
We’re looking for a skilled M365 Engineer to lead and support Microsoft 365 and Azure-based projects. You’ll be part of a high-performing team that delivers technical implementations across cloud platforms, modern workplace tools, and cybersecurity solutions. This is a hybrid position: roughly 80% work-from-home, with occasional travel to client sites in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia metro area.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Microsoft cloud projects: Exchange Online migrations, SharePoint transitions, Intune deployments, Entra ID rollouts, Teams Phone implementations.

  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Entra ID).

  • Deploy Azure solutions including AVD, Windows 365, virtual networks, and core compute resources.

  • Implement and monitor Microsoft Defender XDR; guide remediation during security events.

  • Support new client onboarding: network setup, system configuration, and documentation.

  • Deploy and manage network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, wireless APs).

  • Develop and revise IT policies related to endpoint management and cloud security.

  • Support escalated service desk tickets as needed.

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience at an MSP or in a client-facing IT services role.

  • 5+ years in Microsoft-focused environments with hands-on experience in M365 and Azure.

  • Strong experience with:

    • SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, Intune, Entra ID

    • Azure Compute, Networking, AVD, and Windows 365

    • Microsoft Defender XDR configuration and monitoring

  • Comfortable configuring firewalls, switches, and WAPs.

  • Strong communication and client relationship skills.

  • Bonus: Microsoft certifications (or working toward them), PowerShell scripting, security awareness.
