We are a Managed and Cloud Services Provider based out of Morris Plains, NJ with a team of over 50 dedicated technologists. We have been consistently and organically growing for the last few years. We are looking to continue to capitalize on this momentum by bringing on a Technical Pre-Sales Consultant – MSP Solutions with previous experience in the MSP industry.
The Technical Pre-Sales Consultant – MSP Solutions role blends technical consulting expertise with business communication skills to design, present, and support IT solutions for SMB clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in IT services for small to mid-sized businesses, strong technical skills (particularly in networking and Microsoft environments), and the ability to nurture client relationships without cold-calling. Excellent opportunity for an individual with good technical skills to move from “hands on” to a consulting/business planning position.
The successful Technical Pre-Sales Consultant – MSP Solutions working within existing accounts and assisting sales team with discovering/developing new accounts once they have expressed interest in our firm. Responsibilities include meeting with clients to understand goals and objectives, evaluating and documenting existing technology, researching solutions, and designing and presenting recommended solutions.
Technical Pre-Sales Consultant – MSP Solutions Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with existing and potential clients to understand goals, evaluate current IT systems, and propose technology improvements.
- Document systems and processes effectively to support solution design.
- Present recommended solutions to clients, highlighting technical and business benefits.
- Work within existing accounts to identify opportunities for growth and assist in developing new accounts after initial client interest.
Technical Pre-Sales Consultant – MSP Solutions Required Skills:
- Experience in IT consulting or services, especially in SMB markets.
- Strong understanding of data networks, routing, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Familiarity with firewall configurations (e.g., SonicWall preferred) and scanning tools for solution design.
- Microsoft proficiency (Linux/VMware knowledge is a plus).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Technical Pre-Sales Consultant – MSP Solutions Salary + Benefits:
- $60k – $70k base with potential OTE of $85k in the first year and $100k+ within 3 years
