Role Overview: As a Tier 2.5/3 Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our client network systems. You will be involved in the design, installation, support, and maintenance of systems and related technologies, adhering to best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and support client network and computing infrastructure.
  • Administer servers and virtual server clusters.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, systems, services, equipment, and devices.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance.
  • Oversee network security systems and technologies.
  • Manage software and network security.
  • Handle user account management, permissions, email, and threat management.
  • Implement and oversee system backup and restore protocols.
  • Document network issues and resolutions.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for hardware, networks, and systems.
  • Travel to client sites as needed.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation and be available for after-hours/weekend project work.
  • Monitor support tickets and provide remote support as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in network administration, design, and execution.
  • 1-2 years of IT management experience.
  • Experience in a client-focused environment.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Apple OS, HP/Aruba, Cisco Systems, and SonicWall.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure including switches, routers, cabling, racks, firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, VPN, Terminal Services, VoIP, and QoS.
  • Familiarity with web development and cloud services such as Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with VMWare virtualization and Active Directory.
  • Understanding of both on-premises and cloud-based system architectures.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Accurate time tracking skills.

Location: Ashburn, VA

Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 + Bonuses
