As a managed service provider focused on small to mid-sized businesses, we act as an outsourced IT and cybersecurity department. Continued client acquisition has created an exciting opportunity for a vCIO (Managed IT Services) to lead strategic IT relationships and drive long-term success for a portfolio of 20–30 clients. You’ll lead strategic planning discussions, align IT initiatives with business goals, and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. This is a consultative, client-facing role requiring a blend of business acumen and technical insight.
vCIO (Managed IT Services) Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic IT point of contact for 20–30 business clients
- Lead quarterly planning meetings with stakeholders, developing and presenting technology roadmaps
- Help clients translate business needs into actionable IT strategies
- Identify opportunities for project-based work and present solutions that align with business goals
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure service excellence and client satisfaction
- Maintain a proactive, consultative approach to managing risk, compliance, and innovation
vCIO (Managed IT Services) Experience and Qualifications
- At least 1 year of MSP experience
- 5+ years in IT leadership, account management, or technology consulting roles
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and C-level executives
- A strategic mindset with a client-first mentality and high emotional intelligence
- Experience working in or with managed service providers is a plus
vCIO (Managed IT Services) Salary and Benefits
- Annual salary: $120,000 – $150,000, depending on experience
