System Engineer L3

Bruce is a Senior Systems Engineer with strong MSP tenure, having spent over 7 years with the same company since 2018 in a small, fast-moving environment where he has become the primary technical resource directly under ownership. In a shop of fewer than 10 people, he has developed into a true catch-all engineer who handles everything from Tier 1 through Tier 3 support, escalations, project delivery, onboarding, and infrastructure planning. Importantly, no work is beneath him—he will handle L1 tickets when needed while also owning higher-level engineering issues, making him the kind of teammate every MSP values. He supports the full client base across SMB environments in industries such as healthcare, nonprofit, manufacturing, agriculture, churches, and professional services.

Technically, he is especially strong with Hyper-V, including new builds, migrations, deployments, and troubleshooting, along with solid Windows Server experience from 2008 through current versions. He also brings hands-on experience with M365 administration, Exchange migrations, SharePoint and OneDrive migrations, tenant splits, Entra setup, and Intune deployments. On the networking side, he has built site-to-site tunnels and worked extensively with Sophos, SonicWall, and Calyptix firewalls, plus VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and general network troubleshooting. He is also involved in client onboarding, network assessments, solution recommendations, and helping ownership frame SOWs and proposals. Internally, he trains and mentors incoming technicians, serving as a leader without needing a formal management title.

He is now exploring the market for stronger growth and compensation opportunities, though he speaks highly of his current company.
